Binaural Listening

Hear your design before you build it. Fulcrum One can now render your project binaurally over headphones, with no additional hardware required. Two listening modes are available: Room Auralization, which renders the loudspeaker system and room at any probe location, and Mix Auralization, which renders an object-based mix and any active acoustics spaces.

Simulation Modes

Mapping is no longer limited to direct-sound SPL. This release adds a full set of acoustical simulation modes that let you evaluate a design against real performance specifications. New parameters include Total SPL, D/R Ratio, S/N Ratio, STI, Arrival (Earliest), Arrival Spread, and Density. The mapping toolbar has been redesigned to easily modify simulation parameters and save simulation presets.

Probes

Probes have moved into the bottom tray of the application, with the display dynamically changing based on the selected simulation mode. Select several probes to overlay their responses and see max, average, and minimum statistics in the header, or add chart tabs to pin a probe to a different mode—letting you watch Direct Sound and STI for the same seat side by side. Probes can now be organized into folders; traces can be saved from active probe responses and imported, and references can be used to overlay voicing targets and external reference curves. New Listen and POV buttons allow you to auralize and view the probe from a listener's perspective.

Environments

One now uses Environments to describe the acoustical behavior of a room model, whether used for loudspeaker system simulation, architectural acoustics, or active acoustics. The room-dependent simulation modes—Total SPL, D/R ratio, S/N ratio, and STI—as well as binaural Room Auralization all draw on the active environment for their reverberation time and noise level.

Crosspoint Matrix

The processor mix matrix has been rebuilt as a tabular view of every input contributing to every output. Basic mode routes a signal straight from input to output with a single click, while Advanced mode exposes gain, delay, and polarity on each crosspoint. IO labeling has been clarified throughout, and the matrix can be opened as a standalone Matrix Router dialog.
